Buongiorno mie lettori.. eccoci qui a parlare di come si educano i figli! Eh, come? Nemmeno il miglior saggio al mondo potrebbe rispondere a questa domanda. IMG_20141027_135419_resizedIo sono una mamma paziente (penso), Ginevra una bimba di 2 anni e mezzo già in fase teenager. Non solo perché parla come un’ adulta, ma perché lei è convinta di essere già pronta a decidere e se provo a dirle : “No!”, avete presente l’esplosione del Big Bang? Inizia ad urlare, piangere , qualsiasi cosa abbia tra le mani la lancia a terra, inizia a fare mille linguacce … ed io, con tutta la pazienza che possiedo,  la prendo in braccio e cerco di calmarla, finché  non inizia a rilassarsi. Ma calmarsi per lei non è certo sinonimo di dimenticarsi! Infatti poi con il suo fare sereno e felice ritorna con la stessa richiesta e non importa se due minuti prima le ho detto di NO, non le importa nulla se ha pianto per questo, lei ricomincia ed è in grado di andare avanti ore … Sino a che non esplodo …IMG_20150111_130855_resized Insomma cosa fare? C’è chi dice che i bambini non vanno sgridati, io non sono di quella filosofia. Ma sapete a Ginevra che le importa se la sgrido? Assolutamente nulla, è in grado di diventare sorda e muta a suo piacimento! C’è chi dice che i bambini non vanno sculacciati, io non sono di quella idea, ma indovinate che cosa le cambia ? Nulla! Utilizzo allora il metodo della calma e della pazienza che reputo il migliore per noi, la prendo in braccio, la calmo e le spiego le cose (per l’ennesima volta) .Dopo 10 minuti di spiegazioni, lei ormai assorta dalle mie parole, inizia ala sfilza dei suoi mille “perché “ che poi terminerà con i suoi “E Poi…?” (E le miei energie hanno già toccato la suola delle scarpe e magari sono solo le 9 del mattino). IMG_20150109_115213_resizedInsomma trascorrere le giornate con la mia bimba non è sempre facile, tutti voi mi scrivete che è uno spettacolo, certo, bella lo è, ma che carattere! E poi ci sono io, una mamma alla sua prima esperienza che ogni giorno si pone mille domande e altrettanti sensi di colpa. Ogni giorno sono io a dare consigli a voi, ma oggi sono io che li chiedo a voi. Ma voi cari genitori, nonni, zii come fate? Perché mi reputo una persona paziente, ma a volta vado su di giri come quando in auto sbagli a cambiare marcia, avete presente? IMG_20141111_202735_resizedE lì non capisco più nulla!Anche se urlo e sbraito vedo che non serve assolutamente a niente! Ma allora perché non riesco sempre a stare calma? Perché?? Domanda dalla  risposta impossibile?E poi perché mamma, sorella,  suocera … devono sempre metterci il becco???  Buona giornata!

My mom thinks I am too permissive…my mother-in-law says my daughter does whatever she wants…and Nicola turns to me and goes: “we give her too much freedom!”. Hello readers… here we are talking about how to educate children! Good question uh? How do you do that? Not even the wisest man could find the right answer for that… I am a patient mom (I think), Ginevra is a two and a half year old little girl   and she already feels like she’s a teenager, not only because she talks like an adult, but because she thinks she is ready to make her own decisions…and if I try and tell her “No!” it’s like the Big Bang explosion: she starts screaming and crying, she throws away whatever is in her hands and begins to make all sorts of faces sticking her tongue out! What I do in these moments, with all my patience is: I pick her up, hold her and try to comfort her until she finally stops and calms down. But calming down doesn’t mean she forgets! And then, with her happy and joyful attitude, she would just go right back to her request, it doesn’t matter if she just got a NO as an answer and if that made her cry, she could go on for hours…until I give up! So what is the right thing to do? Some people say children shouldn’t be reprimanded but I don’t think that. The thing is, Ginevra couldn’t care less if she gets reprimanded or not, it doesn’t touch her whatsoever, she has the ability to suddenly become deaf and mute whenever she feels like! Some people also say children shouldn’t get spanked but I don’t think that either. But once again, that’s none of her business…so, the best method for us is to stay calm and patient, I pick her up and try to explain to her how things work (over and over) and after about 10 minutes I had been talking to her, as she is fully focused on my words, she begins with her thousands of “why”, followed by “and then?”…in days like that my energies are consumed even if it’s only 9 o’clock in the morning. Spending time with my daughter is not an easy task, all of you constantly tell me that she is beautiful, yes, she is beautiful, but what an attitude! And here is me, a mom at her first experience, questioning everything I do. I am always the one giving advices, this time I am asking you to give me some advices…my dear parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, what do you do? I think I am a patient person but sometimes I just can’t take it anymore! And that’s when I lose it…why can’t I just manage to stay calm? Why?? Thousands of questions with impossible answers…and mostly, why do mom, sister, mother-in-law and whoever else need to say something about it??? Have a good day!
