Happy Thursday…I am always on a rush…what about you? Let’s just take a break together and relax a little bit! I would like to tell you were I went last Sunday…I have been invited to the Children and Family Fair in my city, Vicenza, dedicated to the whole family! I went there with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, my little nephew and obviously with Ginevra! What about Nicola? Well, let’s just say he has some sorts of allergy to this kind of things, he stayed home watching the soccer game (how surprising!). Instead, we dipped in this magical world, which lasted for the entire weekend. We decided to go on Sunday, at lunch time, just to make sure it was not too crowded, as I had to shoot some pictures and it would have been impossible to do so with too many people! But, even though it was the very first edition, the Children and Family Fair had an unexpected success and it was full of people all day long, even on Sunday, on lunch time! I didn’t exactly know what to expect but I had a great impression, first of all because the fairground was huge and there were so many different little areas, each one dedicated to something different: they had the play area, sport, music, store exhibiting their products, several family communities, many activities for children, which Edoardo and Ginevra had so much fun doing, and they also had the drawing area set up, nothing was left out! You know, there’s one thing I do when I am surrounded by people and it is looking at other parents, carrying their children on their shoulders, holding their hands or pushing the strollers. I observe them, I observe those parents who are busy chasing after their kids, and what I see in their eyes is exactly the same happiness and tiredness that I find in mine…this fair has was mostly thought for parents like me, who are constantly seeking for the best for their children. And even if this might be hard sometimes, we do it from our hearts, because we would do anything for our little ones! I will be back to you soon, hugs.

Happy Sunday and obviously Happy Easter. This is a special day for me and I’m sure it is for most of you as well. I remember this day as a special one because my father always made it special for me…Have I already told you about a custom we had for this day? We used to sit in front of the television and make the sign of the cross with Pope John Paul II…Then things changed: I grew up and he would always reprimand me for not sitting on his lap anymore after dinner. I did that for so many years, but I was going through that age in which you feel ashamed to even say “thank you” to your parents, that rebel phase when you want to spend your life with your friends, rather than with your mom and dad.Then I grew up more, so fast that sometimes I don’t even know where all those years went. Easter holidays became a chance to leave (I have so many memories regarding Easter holidays, and they are all so much fun), then the “stable boyfriend” time came and now here I am, celebrating with Nicola and Ginevra. During this day I think a lot about my dad, who is no longer with me. I would so like to let him know, sitting on his lap, that that custom we had is now his granddaughter’s and mine.I think about my grandparents and their unforgettable smiles, my friends who are gone…just the thought of that makes me cry, like that saying my dad would always tell me: I have tears in my pocket, but he would say that in Venetian dialect!But even if that makes me sad, I look out the window, see the blue sky and think of all those people that I hope to see again one day and I feel serene again! Serene just like Easter has always been for me since I was a little girl, serene like the way I feel when I think about how my life went, serene and proud of my family today. That’s what I wish to all of you: lots of serenity! Happy Easter, a big hug.

Il mio ragazzo ed io siamo una coppia molto attiva, facciamo sempre molte cose e spesso diverse tra loro. Questa domenica abbiamo portato nostra figlia in un paesino della provincia chiamato Valdastico a vedere una rappresentazione chiamata Il ritorno dal bosco. Non appena arrivati ci siamo immersi  tra le stradine di questo bel paesino montano addobbato di bancarelle e banchi che esponevano ottimi cibi, dolci della zona e attrezzi della vita quotidiana di un tempo. Un fiume di persone ci lasciava passare a stento, ma Ginevra era felicissima e salutava tutti con la manina. Alle tre e mezzo circa del pomeriggio tutte le persone  si sono spostate ai lati della strada per far passare questa sfilata meravigliosa: Il ritorno dal bosco è una rievocazione storica che racconta il ritorno dei boscaioli dalle montagne.

Lo spirito con cui viene fatta è proprio quella di riscoprire la ricchezza delle tradizioni di un tempo, quando la vita era molto più dura, ma le esperienze venivano condivise molto di più. C’erano almeno 100 figuranti che sfilavano con  gli abiti del tempo: la carrellata è iniziata con una scolaresca vestita con tanto di grembiule e fiocco al collo, per poi continuare con carrozze e cavalli, uomini che spingevano carrette e donne con bimbi piccoli in braccio. In quel periodo si credeva molto alle streghe, alle “anguane” e ai folletti dispettosi, anch’essi ovviamente rappresentati e ambientati in questo sapore di inizio novecento. Dopo un’ora eravamo ancora fermi a bocca aperta ad osservare la rappresentazione che si è chiusa, per la gioia di Ginevra, con la sfiata di 1100 pecore e un centinaio di mucche.
