“Summer is running out and a year goes away … I’m getting big, you know I don’t like it! ” The Righeira sang just like that, in the far-off 1985. I don’t know about you, but to me the eighties seem centuries ago! But punctually in September, to every respectable Italian, this song comes to mind and I noticed that there is no age … even today’s kids know this song! Unfortunately, we have already arrived at the end of this summer, a very hot summer, they say the hottest since 2003 (another year that seems very far away!). What did you do? Where have you been? I went to the sea and then to finish in style, I was in the mountains and as much as I love the sea, this year I particularly loved the mountain. We have been in the Dolomites, in our beloved Alta Badia and like last year, we have chosen the Hotel La Majun, to have the security of being pampered with incredible hospitality, of eating and drinking very well and of feeling at home. Now for me choose to go to Roberta and Natalie, mother and daughter and owners of the Hotel is quite natural, you know how to say it, right? The winning team doesn’t change (another typical thought of an Italian super soccer fan!). For us is the exact same thing. This summer, to our great surprise, we found a Hotel almost totally renovated; in fact, restoration works have been done and in record time! In just over three months they renovated the exterior and added a floor with 8 suites, all fantastic! I could not believe that in such a short time, they could create a practically new hotel; but in Alta Badia this and much more is possible. The new rooms are nothing short of amazing, curious as they are, I wanted to see them all and I could see that each has an incredible view, they are all large and with a breathtaking design. As always, we ate very well and thanks to the cellar of Carlo, Natalie’s father, we drank some excellent wine. I relaxed in their SPA, Nicola and Ginevra played and swam in their pool and in the evening after dinner, we had fun playing all three of them in some boxed game. I love this kind of vacation that reminds me a lot when I was a child and today, like then, we walked a lot during the day and in the evening, we relaxed in the hotel! I believe that Alta Badia in summer is a great choice, but believe me that in addition to the famous winter period, autumn is also a wonderful season to climb high and get lost in those mountains and in those colors, which have been proclaimed among the most beautiful in the world.

Le spaziose camere e le suites dell’albergo offrono comfort e intimità grazie agli arredi in legno che  sanno di casa, com’è nell’idea che ispira la gestione della famiglia di titolari, Roberta Rinna e suo marito Carl Mellauner. Il loden, il tradizionale tessuto dell’Alta Badia, si ritrova inoltre in tutti gli ambienti, a ricordare le radici nella cultura ladina. Un legame, quello con il territorio e la tradizione, che emerge anche nella scelta dei mobili costruiti con legno antico e creati dalle sapienti mani sapienti delle genti dolomitiche.

La piscina coperta si affaccia con grandi vetrate panoramiche sull’incredibile paesaggio delle Dolomiti, mentre nella zona sauna, fra elementi in pietra naturale e legno, gli ospiti potranno scegliere fra il benessere delle due saune finlandesi e il piacere del bagno di vapore al sale. Per immergersi letteralmente nel cuore delle Dolomiti consiglio un bagno nella tradizionale vasca rustica in legno, riempita fino all’orlo di fieno odoroso e coloratissimi fiori alpini e per finire in bellezza i trattamenti rilassatevi con una tazza fumante di tisana alle erbe, preparata con acqua di fonte, a disposizione nella confortevole saletta da tè.

«La tradizione culinaria quasi cinquantennale della nostra dimora nacque in cantina, a pelare patate», ricorda Roberta, la titolare. Con le specialità ladine reinterpretate, i suoi piatti di stagione e l’abbinamento con gli ingredienti della cucina italiana, il ristorante dell’Hotel La Majun è oggi un punto fisso nello scenario gastronomico dell’Alta Badia. Il suo personale si è infatti specializzato nella preparazione di piatti che legano il gusto italiano alla tradizione alpina e ai vini  accuratamente scelti dal marito di Roberta, Carl Mellauner, che provengono dai vigneti dell’Alto Adige, ma anche dal resto d’Italia e da diversi Paesi del mondo. Un motivo in più per non lasciarsi sfuggire anche una visita all’enoteca dell’albergo.

Among the woods of Alta Badia, in La Villa, a few steps from the great Puez-Odle and Fanes-Senes-Braies peaks, there is a place where the Ladin culture meets comfort: Hotel La Majun (link to the site). Ciao a tutti! Come sta andando il vostro settembre?  Io sono qui a raccontarvi un po’ delle mie vacanze estive: a quanti di voi già mancano? Credo in molti… pure a me! Allora non ci tocca che aspettare le prossime e intanto sognare.  Io in un posto da sogno, a tal proposito, ci sono stata l’agosto scorso e si chiama Alta Badia! Se per molti di voi è una meta invernale io sono qui a dirvi che l’Alta Badia in estate ha un sapore diverso, ma altrettanto bello! In agosto mi sono recata in Alta Badia con la family al completo, quindi con Nicola e Ginevra. Abbiamo scelto di prenderci un albergo a San Cassiano, un paese incantato di queste montagne e l’albergo dove abbiamo soggiornato è stato l’hotel Stores.

La scelta è stata a misura di tutte le nostre necessità; quando siamo in vacanza cerchiamo sempre hotel che siano confortevoli e che abbiamo una zona wellness molto bella. L’hotel Stores ha un design moderno e di classe, non a caso le fotografie che ho messo sui social hanno avuto un riscontro molto positivo, sia per quanto riguarda la mia camera da letto, che la zona wellness e piscina. I titolari dell’hotel Stores sono persone molto cordiali e gentili.

Nei giorni in cui abbiamo soggiornato abbiamo fatto varie attività, ma abbiamo anche mangiato moltissimo! La prima camminata l’abbiamo fatta per andare a pranzo al Pralongià, una baita che da al cliente anche la possibilità di soggiornare per una vacanza. Per arrivare al rifugio Pralongià abbiamo preso la funivia Piz Sorega a San Cassiano e quando siamo arrivati in cima ad accoglierci c’era il Park Moviment. Dopo aver pregato Ginevra di proseguire ed essere riusciti a staccarla dalle varie attrazioni per arrivare a destinazione abbiamo camminato circa un’oretta e mezza….  Il panorama è a dir poco incantevole, è una passeggiata adatta ai bambini e poi nella baita Prelongià si mangia benissimo!

Il secondo giorno, invece, siamo saliti sempre in alta quota, ma questa volta per andare al Rifugio Jimmi e per arrivarci siamo saliti con la funivia che parte da Colfosco. Da Jimmi Ginevra ha potuto giocare perché c’era un po’ di tutto: saltarelli, scivoli, vari giochi divertenti e per noi genitori una bella terrazza dove godersi una buona  birra, piuttosto che gustarsi un buon pranzo e godersi tanto sole. Per il ritorno abbiamo imboccato il sentiero e siamo scesi a piedi: è stato molto bello e rilassante perché oltre a goderci il panorama, il rumore del ruscello che passa accanto alla strada, ci ha accompagnato a valle ed era molto rilassante.  Una volta arrivati in fondo alla montagna siamo stati a visitare la cascata e dal gran caldo abbiamo tolto scarpe e calze e messo a mollo i piedi! Giunta l’ora di pranzo eravamo arrivati in paese e con una grande fame!A Colfosco proprio quel giorno, in mezzo al bosco e agli animali, c’era una festa gastronomica chiamata Delizie del Bosco; ovviamente abbiamo deciso di fermarci e abbiamo fatto decisamente bene.Siamo poi andati in albergo a rilassarci un po’, anche se Ginevra moriva dalla voglia di correre in piscina….è proprio vero che i bambini non sono mai stanchi !

Usciti dalla piscina ci siamo preparati al volo per viverci un aperitivo da favola. Siamo andati infatti all’Hotel Ciasa Salares, famosissimo anche per la sua Cantina Vini, dove potete trovare 24 mila bottiglie con più di 1800 etichette diverse. Potete immaginare il volto di Nicola quando ha visto tutto questo? È stato un aperitivo delizioso e abbiamo assaggiato dei vini che abbiamo ancora nel cuore! Anche la piccola Ginevra è stata trattata come una principessa ed ha bevuto un buonissimo succo di mela biologico. Il giorno seguente è stato il giorno della passeggiata con i Lama! Non vi dico nemmeno l’emozione che aveva in corpo Ginevra, non vedeva l’ora! Ovviamente poi però durante la passeggiata durata qualche ora, il “nostro” Lama l’ha tenuto quasi sempre Nicola perché anche se docile e tranquillo, Ginevra alla fine ne aveva paura.Ovviamente di tutto il gruppo era l’unica bimba ad averne timore, ma lei è fatta così. Nicola quel giorno è stato battezzato e messo sui social come “il pastore”.

La cosa divertente è stata che quando siamo rientrati a casa, anche nel paese dove viviamo hanno iniziato a chiamarlo così…… a distanza di tempo l’altro giorno un signore l’ha fermato chiedendogli se aveva portato a casa un Lama! Che ridere! Questo è il potere pazzesco dei social. Detto questo, la passeggiata con i Lama è stata un’ esperienza molto bella; il vero pastore ci ha raccontato che quest’anno sono partiti da Bolzano di Sopra, dove vive in una tenuta con tutti i suoi Lama e sono arrivati a San Pietro: una camminata di 50 giorni che si è conclusa di fronte al Papa che li ha accolti in persona.

Come mi avete scritto voi su Instagram, non è necessario andare in Perù…. per fare questa esperienza basta andare in Alta Badia! L’ultimo giorno siamo stati al Piz Boe Alpine Lounge un bar, ristorante meraviglioso con una vista panoramica pazzesca! Prima di pranzo siamo saliti con le seggiovie fino al Rifugio Franz Kostner al Vallon, una passeggiata che vi consiglio solo perché sembra di “atterrare” in un altro pianeta! L’Alta Badia mi ha fatto innamorare di lei tanti anni fa in inverno, ma quest’ estate è stata la rivelazione che non mi aspettavo e che riconferma che io e tutta la mia famiglia adoriamo quelle montagne!

Hello everyone! How is your September going? I’m here to tell you a little about my summer holidays: how many of you are already missing? I believe in many … me too! So, we do not have to wait for the next and in the meantime dream. In a dream place, in this regard, I was there last August, and it’s called Alta Badia! Maybe for many of you it is a winter destination but I am here to tell you that Alta Badia has a different taste in summer, but just as beautiful! In August I went to Alta Badia with my family, then with Nicola and Ginevra. We chose to take a hotel in San Cassiano, an enchanted country of these mountains and the hotel where we stayed was the hotel Stores.The choice was tailored to all our needs; when we are on holiday we always look for hotels that are comfortable and that we have a very nice wellness area. The hotel Stores has a modern and classy design, it is no coincidence that the photographs I put on social media have had a very positive feedback, both for my bedroom, the wellness and swimming area. The owners of the hotel Stores are very friendly and kind people. On the days we stayed we did various activities, but we also ate a lot! The first walk we did to go to lunch at Pralongià, a hut that gives the customer the opportunity to stay for a holiday. To get to the Pralongià shelter we took the Piz Sorega cable car to San Cassiano and when we arrived at the top to welcome us there was the Park Moviment.After begging Ginevra to continue and be able to detach her from the various attractions to get to the destination, we walked about an hour and a half …. The view is enchanting, it is a walk suitable for children and then in the hut Prelongià you eat very well! The second day, however, we climbed always at high altitude, but this time to go to Jimmy Hutte Refuge and to get there we climbed with the cableway that starts from Colfosco. From Jimmy Hutte Ginevra could play because there was a little bit of everything: jokes, slides, various fun games and for us a nice terrace where to enjoy a good beer, rather than enjoying a good lunch and enjoying lots of sun. For the return we took the path and we went down on foot: it was very nice and relaxing because in addition to enjoying the view, the noise of the stream that passes by the road, accompanied us to the valley and was very relaxing.Once we reached the bottom of the mountain we visited the waterfall and from the heat we took off shoes and socks and put our feet to soak! When lunch time we arrived in town and with a big hunger!At Colfosco that day, in the middle of the woods and the animals, there was a gastronomic feast called Delizie del Bosco; obviously we decided to stop and we did very well. We then went to the hotel to relax a bit ‘, even if Ginevra was dying to run in the pool … it is really true that children are never tired! Leaving the pool we prepared to live a fabulous cocktail. In fact, we went to the Hotel Ciasa Salares, also famous for its wine cellar, where you can find 24 thousand bottles with more than 1800 different labels. Can you imagine Nicola’s face when he saw all this? It was a delicious aperitif and we tasted some wines that we still have in our hearts! Even little Ginevra was treated like a princess and drank a very good organic apple juice.The following day was the day of the walk with the Lamas! I do not even tell you how emotion was Ginevra, could not wait! Obviously, however, during the walk that lasted for a few hours, “our” Lama almost always kept him because even if docile and quiet, Ginevra was afraid of it at the end. Of course, the whole group was the only child to be afraid of it, but she is like that. Nicola that day was baptized and put on social media as “the shepherd”. The funny thing was that when we returned home, even in the country where we live they started calling it so …… after some time the other day a man stopped him asking if he had brought home a Lama! So funny! This is the crazy power of social media. That said, the walk with the Lamas was a very nice experience; the true shepherd told us that this year they left from Bolzano di Sopra, where he lives in an estate with all his lamas and they arrived in San Pietro: a 50-day walk that ended in front of the Pope who welcomed in person. As you wrote to me on Instagram, it is not necessary to go to Peru …. to do this experience just go to Alta Badia! On the last day we stayed at the Piz Boe Alpine Lounge in this wonderful  bar with an amazing panoramic view! Before lunch we climbed with the chairlifts up to the Franz Kostner Refuge at the Vallon, a walk that I recommend only because it seems to “land” on another planet!Alta Badia made me fall in love with it many years ago in winter, but this summer was the revelation that I did not expect and that reconfirmed that me and my whole family adore those mountains!

Di cose belle io e Ginevra ultimamente ne abbiamo fatte, ma lasciatemelo dire….. tra le più divertenti, al primo posto sicuramente, c’è il soggiorno che abbiamo passato in Alta Badia. Chi di voi non conosce le Dolomiti? Pensate che con me e Ginevra è venuta la mia mamma e nonostante lei non sia un’amante della montagna mi ha detto “Nicole non ho mai visto niente di più bello!”. Le Dolomiti sono così: o le ami o le adori! Io e la mia bimba siamo andate a scoprire i parchi in quota dell’Alta Badia che sono estesi su una superficie di 32 Mq, hanno 33 tipologie diverse di attività e per gli amanti delle passeggiate in montagna potete trovare oltre 400 km di sentieri.

Noi siamo stati in due parchi: il primo giorno  al Summer Park La Crusc situato sotto il Santa Croce e il secondo giorno il Parco Movimënt al Piz Sorega. Abbiamo soggiornato a La Villa, presso l’hotel La Majun, dove tutte e tre siamo state coccolate e trattate come delle vere principesse.

La mattina seguente siamo risalite in alta quota con l’impianto Santa Croce , che abbiamo raggiunto in pochi minuti di auto. Abbiamo infatti trovato il Summer Park La Crusc, un parco diviso in più punti dove in ognuno c’era un’attività molto divertente.

La prima cosa che abbiamo fatto è stata quello di giocare con il laghetto artificiale che abbiamo trovato, poi ci siamo nascoste dentro alle capanne degli indiani e poi abbiamo conosciuto un drago malvagio sotto una grotta.

Mia madre e Ginevra hanno giocato al tiro al bersaglio, dove il lancio veniva fatto con dei sassi reali e il bersaglio era un albero fatto in legno con dei buchi al suo interno.  Ginevra ha giocato in seguito con i Castori di legno e tutti insieme abbiamo persino setacciato l’oro!

La mattinata è passata in modo divertente e veloce. In seguito abbiamo preso la piccola seggiovia che porta alla chiesetta del Santuario di Santa Croce e abbiamo pranzato proprio nel ristoro che si trova lì. Siamo rientrate in hotel molto serene e felici.

Il giorno seguente in auto ci siamo recate a San Cassiano e siamo risalite fino al Piz Sorega: l’entusiasmo di Ginevra nel vedere il Bear Park Piz Sorega è difficile da spiegare! C’erano così tante cose da fare che non sapeva nemmeno lei da dove iniziare!

Il parco situato al Piz Sorega si sviluppa intorno alla scoperta dell’Orso. Ecco che potrete trovare uno spazio con la sabbia dove i vostri bambini potranno scavare e trovare il fossile di un vecchio orso lasciato lì da secoli; entrare dentro la caverna interattiva per scoprire di cosa si nutre un orso, dove dorme e quanto può essere protettivo quando è con il suo cucciolo.

Ma potrete anche giocare con i vostri figli nel percorso dell’acqua, in uno spazio dove c’è una sorta di mini palestra; poi ancora al mini golf e potrete andare in altalena con i vostri figli. Andare a pranzo quel giorno è stata un po’ dura….

Ginevra non voleva più staccarsi da tutti quei giochi … ma alla fine ci siamo riuscite e siamo andate a mangiare! Ci sono varie soluzioni per fare un ottimo pranzo. Una delle migliori è quella di continuare la passeggiate, che dura circa un’ora e mangiare nel rifugio Pralongià . In agosto torneremo in Alta Badia, ma non sappiamo ancora quali nuove avventure ci attendono! E allora possiamo dirvi solo di seguirci, perché vi racconterò tutto il prima possibile! Vi abbraccio.

Me and Ginevra have recently made beautiful things, but let me say … among the most fun, in the first place certainly, there is the time we spent in Alta Badia. Which of you does not know the Dolomites? Do you think that with me and Ginevra, came also my mother, and even though she is not a mountain lover she told me “Nicole I have never seen anything more beautiful!”. My daughter and I went to discover the high-altitude parks. The parks spread over an area of ​​32 square meters, have 33 different types of activities and for lovers of mountain walks you can find more than 400 km of signposted trails. We stayed in two parks: the first day the Summer Park la Crusc located under the Santa Croce and the second day the Park Movimënt  at Piz Sorega. We stayed in La Villa, at the La Majun hotel , where we were pampered and treated like royalty. The following morning we climbed at high altitude at the Santa Croce  facilities, which we reached in a few minutes by car. Once arrived at altitude, our amazement was incredible … Ginevra started to jump. In fact, we found a park divided into several points where everyone had a very fun activity. The first thing we did was to play with the artificial lake we found, then we hid inside the Indian huts and then met an evil dragon under a cave. My mother and Ginevra played target shooting, where the throw was made with real stones and the target was a tree made of wood with holes in it. Ginevra played with the wood beavers later and together we even sifted the gold! The morning passed in a fun and fast way. Later we took the small chairlift that leads to the church of the Santa Croce Sanctuary and we had lunch at the restaurant located there. We came back to the hotel very serene and happy. The following day by car we went to San Cassiano and we went up to the Piz Sorega plateau: the enthusiasm of Ginevra in seeing that park is difficult to explain!There were so many things to do that she did not even know where to start! The Moviment park located at Piz Sorega develops around the cave bear discovery.Here you can find a space with sand where your children can dig and find the fossil of a bear left there for centuries; enter the interactive cave to discover what a bear is feeding, where it sleeps and how much it can be protective when it is with its cub. But you can also play with your children in the water path, in a space where there is a sort of mini-gym; then again at the mini golf and you can go swing with your children. Going to lunch that day was a bit ‘hard … .Ginevra no longer wanted to break away from all those games … but in the end we succeeded and we went to eat!There are various solutions to make a great lunch. One of the best is to continue the walks, which lasts about an hour and eat in the Pralongiá hut. In August we will return to Alta Badia, but we still do not know what new adventures await us! Buon martedì cari amici, che ne pensate di questo inverno quasi primaverile? Strano no?Pensate che noi in Alta Badia non avevamo nemmeno la neve! Questo clima mi fa venir voglia di primavera e di passeggiate meravigliose con la mia bimba, a voi no?

ma siccome avevo voglia di cambiare ho acquistato quello nero a strisce bianche … tra l’altro fare il cambio di tessuto è stato veramente semplice! Non lo trovate meraviglioso e molto … com’è che si dice? 

 . Ora siamo pronte ad affrontare altri chilometri e chilometri di passeggiate; adoro questo passeggino per la facilità di manovra e la semplicità di chiusura. Tra l’altro, io che ho un po’ l’occhio “clinico” e sono sempre in viaggio, per lavoro o per piacere, devo dire che ne vedo dappertutto … Anche in Alta Badia c’erano tantissime mamme con il loro passeggino Stokke. Dopotutto credo che chi sa scegliere per i propri figli la qualità non si sbagli mai! E se poi la qualità va a sposarsi con il fashion, meglio di così, che cosa c’è? Un abbraccio very cool people !

Happy Tuesday my dear friends…what do you think about this winter that feels more like spring? Quite weird isn’t it? We were just in Alta Badia and there wasn’t even snow…but this warmer weather makes me want to go for long long walks with my little girl…what about you? Speaking of that, today I would like to talk to you about a new Style Kit of the  Stokke Xplory stroller… as you already know, the one I have is red…but since I felt like it was a good time for a change I decided to buy the black and white striped one, and changing the covering fabric was super easy! Don’t you think it’s just amazing and…how do you say? I’m trying to remember that work you use to compliment my posts when you comment them…cool! That’s the right word! When I showed it to Ginevra she immediately loved it! You know, now she in the phase when everything must be her way and she usually asks hundreds of questions, but not this time…she just loved her new stroller right away! Now we are ready for infinite walks… I adore this stroller for its easy handling and closing. And, telling the truth, I am always on the go for work or for delight and I have to say that I really see the Stokke strollers everywhere! Even in Alta Badia there were so many moms with their Stokke strollers! I think that people who can choose quality for their children never fail! Ok, Facciamo velocemente una riflessione.

1. Avere tempo libero dal proprio lavoro. (Rido … “tempo” e “Libero”, sostantivo e aggettivo che a casa mia non vanno mai insieme!)

2. Provare a  chiedere ad una nonna disponibile se può tenerti la pupa. Tua madre non può mai nei veri momenti di bisogno e ti tocca chiederlo alla suocera che ti guarda e ti risponde che sei a casa dal lavoro. Capisci tutto e chiami al volo la baby sitter, ma pure lei è impegnata, forse in vacanza con il fidanzato nuovo di zecca ( momenti sognati da te già dimenticati!). All’ultimo secondo tua sorella, (zia, amica del cuore, vicina di casa fidata) ti dice: ” Vai dove vuoi un paio d’ore, te la tengo io! ( Lo consideri Il miracolo di Natale!)

3. Prendere appuntamento dalla tua estetista: siccome ti sei presa all’ ultimo secondo,  dopo averti chiesto (e dopo averti fatto notare con una vena sottilissima di ironia)  se sei ancora viva ti dirà che non ha posto e tu pensi che un tempo te lo avrebbe trovato ad ogni costo un posto, ma lei non è più l’amica fidata e psicologa alla quale  lasciavi una media di 30 euro alla settimana. Quindi devi fare altre 10 chiamate e forse troverai quella che sbuffando ti risponderà: “Mi si è liberato un posto proprio ora, puoi venire prima possibile?”.

4. Corri a vestirti alla velocità della luce, tua sorella (zia, amica del cuore, vicina di casa fidata) arriva, non le dici nemmeno ciao e sei già in auto mentre la piccola urla perché non vuole che tu te ne vada… Stai correndo  verso  quel centro estetico che è logicamente il più caro della città,  perché solo quello poteva avere un posto disponibile … Non appena varcata la soglia, inizi a respirare, ma ti senti stranita perché donne bellissime, abitue del centro,  ti guardano come se fossi un marziano e in fondo un po’ marziano lo sei (inizi a chiederti quando è stata l’ultima volta che ti sei pettinata o messa un po’ di trucco e ricordi che le tue docce sono tutte delle toccate e fuga con tuo figlio che ti batte da dietro il vetro)

Ecco,  adesso potete tirarmi fuori la storia che le donne dovrebbero prendersi cura di se stesse, perché quando hanno dei figli si lasciano andare, non sono più come prima eccetera eccetera…. ma io sono convinta che una mamma quando ha un figlio piccolo faccia veramente fatica a guardarsi persino allo specchio e quindi, siccome in realtà un po’ di ragione l’avete,  ho deciso che il centro benessere me lo faccio in casa mia. Come? Mi sono comprata il nuovo VisaCare della Philips e vi posso assicurare che lo stress (vedi punti 1, 2, 3, 4) me li sono lasciati tutti alle spalle… Il VisaCare è perfetto sia per le pelli giovani come le mie, perché riattiva la micro circolazione e quindi allontana le prime rughe e ottimo per le pelli  mature  perché le  rende più sode. Good morning love people! How have you been? And how did your Christmas holidays go? We just got back from Alta Badia where we spent a week in the beautiful city of Corvara… As for the Christmas week, we just stayed home. What did we do during the Christmas week? Well, Ginevra and I spent most of our time playing in the little bit of snow that fell in our town and going for long walks in the open air… Also, during those days, in the afternoon while Ginevra was taking a nap, I also made time to take care of myself at the house, so that I could be all ready for the upcoming vacation! Do you know what it means for a mom to be able to take care of herself? Things like going to the beauty salon and see that one special friend how once used to look after our body, face and hands who’s normally called a beautician?

Ok, let’s make a quick reflection.

1. Find some free time outside of work (which makes me smile as the words “time” and “free” don’t usually go together for me!).

2. Ask an available grandmother to look after our child. That’s when your mom obviously has prior commitments and you have to ask your mother-in-law, which immediately points out that you are not working so you have to find another solution. But the babysitter is busy too, possibly on vacation with her brand new boyfriend (moments that you can only live in your dreams now and are long gone for you!). But then, at the last second, your amazing sister (aunt, best friend and trusty neighbor) tells you: “go ahead and take some time for yourself, I’ll take care of the baby for a couple of hours!”. Christmas Miracles do happen!

3. Make an appointment at your favorite beauty salon where you haven’t been in ages, which, since you called at the last second, is not going to have any availability (and you think to yourself that a few years ago they would have found a spot for you no matter what!). But since you no longer go there, for a total cost of at least 30 Euro a week, you need to make 10 more phone calls until you finally find an available beautician who’s going to give you an appointment snorting!.

4. So you get ready as fast as you can, your sister (aunt, best friend and trusty neighbor) gets there but you don’t even have time to say hi and you are already in your car, as your child is screaming because they don’t want you to leave. You are finally on your way to the salon, which obviously is the most expensive in the city, and as you walk in you feel extremely uncomfortable because some beautiful women who go there every day, look at you like you were a Martian, and, in the end, maybe you really are. Their looks make you wonder when was the last time you combed your hair or did your makeup and you realize that your showers are all super quick, with your child yelling and pounding on the glass door.

Ok, now you can tell me that women should take better care of themselves and that they shouldn’t stop doing that just because they have children… but I honestly think that for a woman with a child it is truly difficult to make time even just for looking at herself in the mirror. So, since you are all right, I decided to create my very own home beauty salon, would you like to know how I did that? I simply bought the new VisaCare by Philips.
