Buongiorno mondo! Buongiorno primavera, buongiorno a chi, come me, si è svegliato di buon umore.  oggi ho intervistato per voi un’amica di vecchia data. L’ho conosciuta ai tempi dell’università e ricordo che mi aveva colpita subito per la sua bellezza, ma anche perché i suoi grandi occhi chiari trasmettevano sincerità e intelligenza. Eravamo diventate anche colleghe di lavoro. Faceva la modella, ma lei nel cuore aveva un altro sogno, uno di quelli che sembra impossibile diventino realtà e invece….Ecco a voi Roberta Sparta:

Ciao Roby, inizi a fare la modella da molto giovane, ma c’è una passione che ti porta altrove, ce la vuoi raccontare?

Certo fare la modella era un po’ il mio pallino, ma sapevo che nel tempo non mi sarebbe bastato, ho cercato di capire chi fossi e l’amore per la recitazione che avevo fin da bambina mi ha portata a iscrivermi al CTA di Milano per fare un corso di dizione. Il CTA è una scuola molto importante collegata al teatro Piccolo di Milano.

Nel 2008 vinci una borsa di studio

Ricordo che non ci potevo credere: ero stata a Londra per sostenere un provino per entrare a far parte dell’Accademia America Arte Drammatica, avevo imparato il copione a memoria e non ero nemmeno bravissima con l’inglese, ma mi sono buttata e dopo aver superato la prova avevo solo da scegliere in che sede andare a studiare, se quella loro di New York o quella di Los Angeles, l’istinto mi ha portata a Los Angeles. Ero felicissima!

Arrivi a Los Angeles con due valigie, tanti sogni e poco inglese …

Devo dire che all’Accademia mi hanno aiutata tantissimo sia per imparare la lingua che per la dizione. Poi lì c’è voluto un po’ per ambientarsi e ho fatto anche un paio di trasferimenti di casa, ma sai quando sei ad Hollywood tutte le fatiche sembrano minori …

Ti ambienti, inizi a studiare e poi arrivano i primi lavori come attrice.

Nel 2011 ho girato in Italia, a Treviso tre scene nel film con Abatantuono,”Cose dell’altro mondo” per la regia di Francesco Paterno. In queste scene vestivo i panni di una truccatrice. Sempre nel 2011 ho girato a Vicenza alcune scene per il film “Ritual” per la regia di Giulia Brazzale e Luca Immesi, con l’attore Ivan Franek che lo abbiamo visto recentemente nel film “La Grande Bellezza”. Ritual sta per uscire a livello internazione nei prossimi mesi, io qui ho interpretato una ragazza seducente.

Inizi così a muovere i primi passi…

Esattamente. Ho sempre continuato a lavorare. Nel 2012 ho girato una puntata all’interno di una serie televisiva americana che parlava di avvenimenti fantascientifici che possono capitare nella realtà, la serie si chiama “Through the Wormhole”.  Sempre nello stesso anno ho girato parecchi spot pubblicitari; sono stata protagonista per la pubblicità della Nissan in America e per il Caffè Hag in Italia. Ho poi girato un importante cortometraggio, sempre in Italia, per un associazione di Mestre, Avapo, per la cura dei malati di cancro affiancata dall’attore Davide Dolores e per la regia di Giovanni Cecchinato.

Primi passi che diventano in fretta passi importanti.

Così sembra fino a quando nel 2013 divento il capo di un gruppo di alieni sbarcati nella terra per conquistare il mondo in “The Journeys”: un serial televisivo americano dove giro sei puntate e dove sono una delle protagoniste. Successivamente lavoro per un’altra serie “Circle of Influence”, dove vesto i panni di una spia che lavora per il governo americano. L’emozione più grande però è stata lavorare per la Disney. Ho avuto l’onore di entrare in questi Studios meravigliosi e prestare la mia voce ad un personaggio. Il progetto è nato per rilanciare Topolino: hanno infatti creato una serie di cartoni animati di breve durata di cui  ho fatto parte in una puntata ambientata, tra le altre cose, a Venezia, affiancata dalla grande Russi Taylor, voce di Minnie da 30 anni. Altro particolare: lei e Chris Diamantopoulus,voce di Topolino, sono stati sposati una vita. Come tutti sappiamo però l’anno scorso lui è venuto a mancare. Per lei era la prima volta che non lavorava a fianco al marito ed è stato tutto super emozionante e toccante! Il 2013 è stato un anno durante il quale ho lavorato tanto,anche come modella e poi come attrice per la Los Angeles Film School, che viene adoperata da studenti di recitazione per portare in scena la loro tesi. Hanno meravigliosi allestimenti e sono diretti sempre da registi importanti e per me anche quella è una grande scuola…

Poi arriva il primo vero ruolo.

Eccoci qui, esattamente ora sto per finire di girare “Anger of the Dead” proprio in Toscana, in cui sono la protagonista Alice, per la regia di Francesco Picone. Il film verrà distribuito a livello internazionale l’anno prossimo, prodotto da Extreme video di cui fanno parte Marco Ristori, Luca Boni e Uwe Boll.

Ci puoi anticipare qualcosa di questo tuo film?

Non molto, se non dirvi che è un horror e che Alice rappresenta il simbolo della vita. La storia racconta che gli Zombie hanno invaso la terra e il film inizia sei mesi dopo questo avvenimento … è un po’ il viaggio dell’eroe che deve portare il bene a vincere contro il male.

 

Cosa ami del tuo lavoro?

Interpretare altre persone per me è il massimo, ora sono Alice e mi sento lei non solo dentro al film, ma anche fuori. Quando interpreti qualcuno per vari mesi è inevitabile che questo ti entri dentro in tutte le sue dimensioni. Ovviamente, finito di girare, un bravo attore deve essere capace di lasciare andare il personaggio che è stato e riprendersi il proprio io.

Progetti per il futuro?

Questa settimana finisco di girare e poi torno subito in America per lavoro: attualmente sono la testimonial di Verizon, una rete telefonica mobile e devo girare alcuni spot e pubblicità. Ad ottobre scorso ho anche aperto una scuola di attori e modelle che si chiama Role Modella.com dove insieme ad altri, insegno come ci si approccia all’interno di un set o di una sfilata e poi per altri progetti e forse un altro film.

I tuoi sogni?

Ora ho girato il mio primo film da protagonista in lingua inglese. Il mio sogno è continuare a crescere in questa direzione e un giorno chissà… ora devo lavorare ancora tanto!

Un consiglio a chi vuole iniziare a fare l’attore?

Bisogna crederci fino in fondo, buttarsi nelle cose e non aver paura di cambiare la propria vita da un giorno all’ altro e studiare, studiare tanto.

Good morning world! Good morning spring, good morning to how, like me, woke up in a good mood. Today I have interviewed an old friend of mine for you. I met her in college and I remember that I was immediately fascinated by her beauty, but also by her big bright eyes that express honesty and intelligence. We were coworkers as well. She used to be a model, but there was another dream inside her heart, one of those dreams that seem so impossible to achieve…here’s to you Roberta Sparta:

Hello Roby, you started modeling when you were very young, but there’s a passion that took you away, can you tell us about it?

Sure, being a model has always been my obsession, but I knew that it was not going to be enough. I tried to understand who I was and the love for acting that grew up with me since I was a little girl led me to start studying at the CTA in Milan for elocution lessons. The CTA is a very important school, with connections with the Piccolo Theatre in Milan.

 

In 2008 you won a scholarship

I remember I couldn’t believe it: I went to London for an audition for the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, I knew the script by heart and I wasn’t even that god with the English language, but I tried and after passing the test I only had to choose where to go study between New York or Los Angeles, instinct brought me to Los Angeles. I was so happy!

 

So you got to Los Angeles with two suitcases, many dreams and a little English…

I have to say that at the Academy I’ve been helped so much with both the language and the pronounce. It took me a little bit to getting used to it and I also changed housequite a bit, but you know, when you’re in Hollywood everything seems so much easier…

You settled in, started studying and then you start with the firsts jobs as an actress.

In 2011 I filmed in Italy, in Treviso, three scenes from the movie with Abatantuono, “Things from another planet”, directed by Francesco Paterno. In these scenes I was playing the role of a makeup artist. Always in 2011 I filmed in Vicenza some scenes for the movie “Ritual”, directed by Giulia Brazzale and Luca Immesi, with the actor Ivan Franek that we’ve recently seen in the movie “The Great Beauty”. Ritual is about to come out on an international scale in the next months, I played the role of a seductive woman.

 

You then started to take the first steps…

Right. I’ve always kept working. In 2012 I shot an episode in an American TV show which was about “sci-fi” facts that can occur in real life, the show was called “Through the Wormhole”. In the same year I shot many commercials; I was in the America commercial for Nissan and in the Italian commercial for Hag coffee. Then I filmed  an important short, always in Italy, for Avapo, an association from Mestre, for the cancer awareness together with the actor Davide Dolores and directed by Giovanni Cecchinato.

 

First steps that will soon become big steps.

That’s what it seemed like, until in 2013 I become the leader of a group of aliens landed on Earth to conquer the world in “The Journeys”: an America serial for which I filmed six episodes as one of the main characters. Later I started working for another TV serie called “Circle of Influence”, where I play a spy who works for the American Government. Though, the biggest emotion was working for Disney. I had the honor to enter in their amazing Studios and give a character my voice. The project started to reintroduce Mickey Mouse: they indeed created a short series of animated cartoons where I took part in an episode played in Venice, along with the great Russi Taylor, who’s been giving Minnie her voice for over 30 years. A little detail: she has been married for so long to Chris Diamantopoulus, Mickey Mouse’s voice. As we all know he just passed away last year. It was the first time she wasn’t working with her husband and it all was so emotional and touching! 2013 has been a year during which I have work a lot, as a model as well and then as an actress for the Los Angeles Film School, used by acting students to put their projects on stage. They have beautiful sets and they are always directed by important directors and I think that’s also a great school.

 

Here’s when you get the first real role.

Yeah, I am just now finishing filming “Anger of the Dead” in Tuscany, where I play Alice, the main character, directed by Francesco Picone. The movie will be put out internationally next year, produced by Extreme Video for which work Marco Ristori, Luca Boni and Uwe Boll.

 

Could you tell us something about this movie?

Not much, all I can say is that it is a horror movie and Alive represents the symbol of life. The story is about a Zombie invasion and the movie starts 6 months after that…it is kind of the trip of a hero who brings good and defeats evil.

 

What do you love about your job?

I love playing different people, right now I am Alice and I feel like her not only on the movie set but also outside. When you act the role of someone for several months it will end up being totally part of you.

Obviously, after being done acting, good actors are required to be able to let the character go and go back to themselves.

 

Do you have any plans for the future?

I will be done filming by this week and then I’m going back to America for work: I currently am testimonial for Verizon, a mobile company, and I will be filming some commercials. Last October I have also started an acting and modeling school called Role Modella (Rolemodella.com) where, together with other people, I teach how to properly approach a movie set or a runway, then I have other projects as well and maybe another movie.

 

What are your dreams?

I have finally shot my first movie in English. My dream is to keep following this path and keep growing…but for now I have a lot of work to do!

 

What would you suggest to someone who wants to become an actor?

You have to firmly believe in what you’re doing, try hard, don’t be afraid to change your life from one day to the other, and study, study a lot.
