Buongiorno gente di mare! Eh sì, non diceva forse così una vecchia canzone?E per chi, come noi vive in una penisola, non c’è frase più azzeccata ! Gente di mare anche per via di queste piogge che stanno veramente tornando a fare paura! Vi penso sempre, sapete? Sì, ad ogni brutta notizia a riguardo io ci tengo a dirvelo: vi penso amici di Genova, vi ho nel cuore amici di Carrara e voi così cari per me Siciliani; insomma questo maltempo non sta risparmiando nessuno!Forza, forza,  forza! Oltre alla mia cara Italia, c’è un altro paese a cui io tengo particolarmente  e a cui spero di poter dare un piccolo contributo affinché venga aiutato: l’Africa. Ci sono delle motivazioni  personali del perché questo è per me uno stato tanto caro e forse un giorno avrò il coraggio di raccontarvelo in maniera più specifica; per ora vi dico solo che è uno Stato che conosco bene e che mio padre per molti anni ci ha lavorato. Martedì scorso sono stata invitata alla presentazione del libro e inaugurazione della mostra “Due destini : il libro è stato scritto da Renzo di Renzo con le illustrazioni di Sonia M.L. Possentini.  L’evento si è tenuto all’interno dell’ospedale situato nell’Alto Vicentino a Santorso,  in collaborazione con l’ULSS4 e i Medici dell’Africa Cuemm.  Alla presentazione erano presenti  l’avv. Daniela Carraro, direttore generale dell’ Ulss 4 Alto Vicentino, Oscar Merante Boschini, coordinatore dell’area comunicazione e Fund Raising Medici con l’Africa Cuamm , dr. Gianluca Baldassare volontario e il dr. Francesco Capozzo , responsabile del reparto ginecologia dell’ospedale di Santorso. L’evento è stato molto emozionante; la mostra (che vi consiglio di passare a vedere se siete dalle nostre parti  sarà esposta fino al 3 dicembre)  è molto forte e ti riporta appunto all’ argomento del libro. “Due destini “ racconta la vita di due bambini che nascono rispettivamente in Italia e in Africa, due vite e pensieri completamente diversi con un unico destino in comune: quello un giorno di incontrarsi.  Il libro è molto toccante e offre molti punti sui quali riflettere … ve lo consiglio proprio! Ha un costo di 15 euro che andranno interamente in beneficienza, a favore dei Medici con L’Africa Cuemm, i quali si occupano del grande problema africano di far nascere i bambini.  Quello che da noi è considerato una cosa semplice e naturale, in condizioni come le loro il parto diventa un qualcosa di estremamente difficile e complicato! Aiutiamo anche noi a nascere e a crescere questi bambini: www.mediciconlafrica.org ! In questo appuntamento si è toccato anche l’argomento  Ebola e la sua gravità. Talvolta leggo sui social cose incredibili e superficiali su questa malattia, questa malattia esiste davvero ed è devastante, la gravità della situazione l’ho vista dentro gli occhi di queste persone che l’ hanno vissuta in prima persona;  non prendiamola sotto gamba, ve lo dice una che per una malattia arrivata dall’Africa ha visto morire suo padre tra le braccia! Riflettiamo e rendiamoci conto che siamo a migliaia di chilometri dal quel paese; dobbiamo avere per favore l’ umiltà di non divulgare cose di cui non conosciamo minimamente la verità! Un giorno scriverò anche un post dell’ importanza del vaccino e vi spiegherò il perché è così importante vaccinare i bambini secondo il mio punto di vista … buona giornata.

Good morning sea people…that is what an old song used to say and for people like us, who live in a peninsula it couldn’t be more suitable! Except that all these downpours are starting to become slightly scary and alarming! You know I always think about you right? I make sure I always let you know any bad news on this topic. I am thinking about you, my friends from Genoa and I keep my friends from Carrara and from Sicily in my heart. This terrible weather is not sparing anybody! And I have all of you in my thoughts!! Come on, be strong! But besides my beloved Italy there’s another country I’m very fond of, and which I really hope I will be able to help with a little contribution: Africa. There are also some personal reasons why I care so much about this nation and perhaps someday I will  find the courage to talk to you about it more specifically, but for now all I am going to say is that it is a country that I know very well and where my dad worked for many years. Last week I was invited to the presentation and exhibition of the book “Two Destinies”, written by Renzo Di Renzo and illustrated by Sonia M. L. Possentini. The even took place last Tuesday inside the hospital of Santorso, in the upper province of Vicenza, in collaboration with the ULSS 4 and the medical organization Doctors with Africa Cuamm. Among the people who attended the presentation were also Lawyer  Daniela Carraro, General Director of the ULSS 4 for the upper province of Vicenza, Oscar Merante Boschini, Communication Manager and Fund Raiser for Doctors with Africa Cuamm, Dr. Gianluca Baldassare, voluntary worker for Doctors with Africa Cuamm and Dr. Francesco Capozzo, Manager of the gynecology department in the hospital of Santorso. It was very touching. The exhibition, which I highly recommend to go visit if you are in the area, is quite strong and recalls the topic of the book: “Two Destinies” is the story of two children, one was born in Italy, one in Africa, the lives they conduct and their thoughts are totally different from one another, yet they have the same destiny, to meet each other. The book is very emotional and gives a few things to reflect on…I suggest to read it! Its cost is of 15 Euro, which will be entirely donated for charity to Doctors with Africa Cuamm, who deal with the great African issue of birth, because something like giving birth can become extremely difficult and even life threatening in such bad conditions like theirs! Let’s help this children come to the world and grow up: www.mediciconlafrica.org. During the event we also talked about Ebola and how serious of a problem it is. Sometimes I read incredibly superficial things on the media: this disease do exists and it can really be devastating. I could see the gravity of this issue in the eyes of these people who have seen it firsthand; we shouldn’t underestimate it! I saw my dad dying in my own arms because of an African disease! Let’s think about it and realize that we are thousands of miles away from that place, so let’s not spread false rumors on something we don’t know anything about! One day I will also write something about the importance of medical shots and I will tell you why it is so important to vaccinate our children… have a nice day.
