Buongiorno a tutti e buona domenica sopratutto!… Oggi vi voglio raccontare, in grande confidenza, il primo grande amore di Ginevra.Sicuramente chi di voi ha figli può capire quanto sia importante per i nostri bambini innamorarsi di un oggetto che per loro rappresenti rassicurazione e consolazione. Tutto è iniziato nei primi mesi di vita…con la mia Tapu devo ammettere di essere stata fortunatissima perché era una neonata buonissima. Mangiava e dormiva di giorno… ma di notte si svegliava ogni 3 ore perché l’allattavo. Ginevra è sempre stata una mangiona e fino ai 6 mesi poppava ogni tre ore appunto … io ero letteralmente sfinita. Un giorno mia madre è arrivata a casa mia con un regalo per Ginevra. Si trattava di una bambolina che mi consigliò di mettere nel lettino con la piccola. Mi consigliò inoltre di non correre da lei ogni tre ore, ma di lasciarla piangere un po’ di modo che si abituasse a calmarsi da sola e magari a farsi consolare dalla bambola. Lì per lì ero molto perplessa… pensavo che non ce l’avrei mai fatta a lasciarla piangere, invece in un giro di una settimana, tentativo dopo tentativo, la mia Tapu si è abituata alla bambola ed io riuscivo finalmente a dormire almeno un’ora in più. E’ stato un cambiamento non da poco e chi di voi ha allattato o allatta sa perfettamente quanta stanchezza fisica si accumula. Per ogni mamma, nei primi mesi del suo bambino,dormire anche solo mezz’ora in più è come conquistare l’oro alle Olimpiadi! Tant’è che la bambolina per me è magica e l’ho chiamata Maggie: ora lei e Ginevra sono inseparabili. All’asilo nido, le maestre,stupite ovviamente dalla voracità della mia bimba di 21 mesi, mi raccontano che non si stacca mai da lei, nemmeno all’ora di pranzo. Good morning everyone and, most of all, happy Sunday! Today I would like to tell you, in strict confidence, about Ginevra’s first big love. I’m sure who among you has children knows how important it is for our little ones to fall in love with an object that can be for them a source of reassurance and consolation.It all started during her first months…I must admit that I have been extremely lucky with my Tapu, as she was a very quiet and nice newborn. She would eat and sleep during the day…but at night, she would wake up every 3 hours because I was breast feeding her. Ginevra has always been a big eater and, indeed, she would eat every 3 hours until she was 6 months old…I was literally exhausted.One day my mom came over to my house with a gift for Ginevra. It was a little doll she suggested to put in the bed with the baby. She also suggested to let her cry a little bit instead of running to her every 3 hours, so that she could get used to calm herself down and maybe let the doll comfort her. At first I was quite puzzled…I thought I would never have been able to let her cry, but instead, after the first week, try after try, my Tapu got used to the doll and I was finally able to sleep one more hour.It was a remarkable change and those of you who have or still is breast feeding, knows perfectly how tired it can make you. For every mom, during their baby’s first months, being able to sleep for even just half an hour more than usual feels like winning the gold medal at the Olympics!
