Il ciuccio è mio ! / My pacifier!

Buon martedì!Iniziata bene la vostra settimana? Mi trovo nella fase in cui Ginevra deve iniziare a capire che è ora di togliere il ciuccio! Avete presente? Quel piccolo succhietto gommoso che dal giorno della sua nascita è un suo fedele alleato e che tra un po’ non dovrà più esistere nella sua vita? Immaginate con che occhietti mi guarda lei ogni volta che le dico che è grande e che il ciuccio ormai non le serve più! Sapete cosa mi risponde: “No, mio ciuccio !” E se lo rimette in bocca. Ammetto,  fino a poco tempo fa non era solo un suo alleato, ma anche un mio e gli esperti comunque lo consigliano per molti motivi: aiutano il bambino nella coordinazione della respirazione e deglutizione e nella stimolazione della corretta funzionalità dei muscoli del visino.

Per questi motivi mi sono sempre sentita al sicuro scegliendo l’azienda Chicco che studia i suoi prodotti in modo che siano adatti alla bocca e che permettano una corretta distribuzione della pressione della lingua sul palato. E poi argomento assai delicato, anche perché personalmente ne ho sempre avuto una paura incredibile, il ciuccio è un prodotto che, se studiato correttamente, diminuisce il pericolo della SIDS (morte da culla)! Non so voi, ma per me non ci sono notti, nonostante abbia già due anni e mezzo ,in cui non mi svegli a sentire il suo respiro! Sono fatta così e non credo cambierò! Quindi ora ragionare con lei per farle capire che non ne ha più bisogno non è semplice,  lui è, e rimane, il suo amico e consolatore di sempre. Quindi ho intrapreso la mia missione leva-ciuccio anche se per la dentizione si consiglia di toglierlo definitivamente a 36 mesi . So già che per lei sarà  un trauma  vivere senza di lui, quindi impiegherò almeno un anno per farle smettere di succhiare il ciuccio! Aiuto, ce la farò a superare questa fase? Happy Tuesday…has your week started well? I am going through the phase where I’m trying to get Ginevra to give up her pacifier! You know, that little rubbery friend that soon enough will no longer be part of her life! You can probably imagine the way she looks at me every time I tell her that she is growing up and getting too big to be using it! Her answer is always the same: “No, my pacifier!” and it goes right back in her mouth. To be honest, up until not too long ago the pacifier was not just Ginevra’s friend, but also mine. It is actually recommended by the experts for several reasons: it helps the baby coordinating breathing and swallowing and it also helps stimulating the proper functionality of facial muscles. That’s why I have always felt safe by choosing the brand Chicco, as this company designs its products to fit the child’s mouth and to ensure a balanced pressure of the tongue on the palate. And, most importantly, the pacifier is an item that, if it is properly designed and manufactured, prevents the SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), and this is an extremely touchy subject because I have always been very afraid of it! I don’t know about you but some nights, even though she is now 2 and a half years old, I still get up to go check on her and feel her breath! I don’t think I will ever stop doing this! So, now, trying to make her understand the it is time to say goodbye to her pacifier is not easy, it has always been her comforting companion! That’s why I have already started the process, even if I know that the pacifier should be quit around 36 months, but I know it is going to be hard for her to give it up! It will take me at least another year to succeed! Help, am I going to make it? Do you have any suggestions or advices? Hugs
