Buongiorno a tutti! L’altro pomeriggio sono rimasta per un po’ incantata a guardare la mia piccola mentre giocava prima a fare la mamma con la sua cucina delle bambole e poi con delle stoffe avanzate da alcuni lavori di cucito della nonna Emma! Dopo aver pensato a quanto sia bello essere bambini e poter giocare per un tempo infinito facendo volare la fantasia, ho riflettuto anche su quanto siamo ancora oggi influenzati dai principi e dal metodo dell’educatrice Maria Montessori. Per lei, la scuola non è uno spazio esclusivo per maestri e professori che trasmettono conoscenza in maniera direttiva: la Montessori sosteneva che il bambino dovesse sviluppare le sue capacità liberamente, partendo da un materiale didattico ben preciso. Le aule accoglievano alunni di diversa età; lì, i bambini erano liberi di scegliere il materiale con cui lavorare e ampliavano le loro abilità in modo più autonomo. Nella sua visione infatti, l’educazione ai sensi rappresenta una tappa importantissima per aiutare lo sviluppo del bimbo.Secondo la celebre studiosa, stimolare e affinare i sensi amplia il campo della percezione di ogni bambino offrendo una base sempre più solida e ricca allo sviluppo dell’intelligenza. Di conseguenza, il metodo montessoriano assegna un ruolo centrale alle attività che stimolano la crescita fisica e la formazione delle capacità psichiche sensoriali (soprattutto nel periodo tra i 3-6 anni). A questo scopo, il materiale sensoriale (messo a punto dalla studiosa stessa) – e usato ancora oggi nelle scuole montessoriane – aiuta ogni bimbo ad allenare tutte le sue abilità. Al genitore spetta il compito di capire quando è il momento ‘giusto’ per presentarle. Ogni piccolo, infatti, come sosteneva la studiosa, ha i suoi ritmi e non bisogna mai sforzarlo ma guidarlo e aiutarlo a fare da solo.

• La cucina è un luogo aperto a maschi e femmine, perché ognuno di noi, fin da piccolo, deve poter approcciare al cibo e imparare a manipolarlo.  Tavolino, sedie, scaffali, piani di lavoro e attrezzi in miniatura saranno perfetti anche per i bambini piccoli. Non dimenticare la mini scopa e lo strofinaccio. Apparecchiare è uno dei compiti montessoriani proposti già nella scuola materna.
• Tavole dei colori Le tavole dei colori prevedono 7 tonalità diverse di 9 colori: 63 blocchetti di legno dove incollare il quadratino colorato, che potrai scaricare direttamente da internet. L’educazione al senso cromatico avverrà gradualmente, imparando a riconoscere le gamme di colore attraverso il gioco.

Per realizzare il sacco dei misteri ti basta un sacchetto di cotone dove inserirai diversi oggetti, che il bambino dovrà indovinare. Ricorda di scegliere oggetti non taglienti e i cui nomi siano conosciuti dal bambino. Nel sacco puoi inserire conchiglie, monetine, una palla, pigne, una matita e cambiarli di volta in volta. È molto importante inserire nel sacco oggetti reali perché attraverso il tatto il bambino imparerà a esplorare e riconoscere gli oggetti del mondo quotidiano: il bambino, infatti, dovrà inserire una mano nel sacco e indovinare di cosa si tratta.
• Armadio delle stoffe Tanti scampoli di stoffa da riconoscere al tatto e una scatola che le contiene: cotone, seta, lino, velluto jeans sono solo alcuni dei campioni che potresti inserire. Un gioco molto semplice che il bambino effettuerà bendato.
• Scopa e paletta In diversi negozi per bambini è disponibile il materiale per le pulizie: scope, palette, spazzole in formato ridotto ma realmente funzionanti che il bambino potrà utilizzare, spontaneamente, per emulare il genitore aiutandolo nelle pulizie di casa. Evita i giocattoli che copiano gli elettrodomestici senza funzionare davvero, scegli oggetti semplici e colorati che possano essere utilizzati nella vita quotidiana. Il “gioco delle pulizie” per emulazione viene spesso considerato solo per le bambine. Non aver paura di mettere in mano scopa e paletta anche ai figli maschi e non badare alle critiche di nonni o parenti. Stai solo facendo il bene del bambino contribuendo alla sua autonomia.
