Buongiorno a tutti, oggi sono super carica! Per voi ho intervistato una ragazza che mi ha colpito tantissimo, una ragazza della quale sentiremo spesso parlare, perché se è vero, come diceva Socrate, che la fortuna non esiste, esiste il momento in cui il talento incontra l’occasione Anna Fiscale ne è l’esempio e quando avviene quest’ incontro, ciò che si crea non può che essere grandioso! Due anni fa nasce il Progetto Quid, un progetto creato da un gruppo di ragazzi di cui Anna è la fondatrice: sfruttando le stoffe inutilizzate da alcune aziende di moda, sono partiti creando t-shirt fino ad arrivare ad avere una loro linea di moda e molto molto di più. Ma lasciamo che sia lei a raccontarcelo.

Anna, vuoi parlarci di te?
Sono nata e cresciuta a Verona, un gioiello di città dove spesso, nel periodo delle superiori, pedalando in bicicletta tra le sue stradine, riflettevo su come avessi potuto lasciare il segno in questo mondo.

Avevi già in mente qualcosa allora?
No, ma alcune risposte mi sono arrivate quando ho iniziato a fare l’università. Mi sono iscritta alla facoltà di economia, dove tra le tante cose ho imparato, mi ha affascinato l’incisività del cambiamento dei modi di produzione e di consumo. Ne sono rimasta talmente affascinata che ho voluto andare in India, dove mi sono occupata di studiare i sistemi di microcredito femminile per la mia tesi triennale scritta tra Verona e Londra. In seguito ho deciso di specializzarmi in gestione delle organizzazioni internazionali alla Bocconi, un’esperienza di studio intensa in cui ho alternato periodi di stage – presso la Commisisone Europea – a scambi accademici a Parigi – per poi lanciarmi in una tesi specialistica sugli aiuti umanitari del sistema internazionale a Haiti. Quest’esperienza è stata decisiva per comprendere che la dimensione internazionale della cooperazione allo sviluppo, richiedeva una dose di diplomazia e compromessi che si scontravano con la mia voglia di fare. Un po’ controtendenza rispetto a buona parte dei miei coetanei ho deciso di fare le valigie e di tornare a Verona per cercare la formula perfetta per un cambiamento efficace e duraturo, che potesse mettere le radici e crescere.

E qui nasce il Progetto Quid
Esattamente, dopo un periodo di volontariato con delle carcerate ho compreso che le donne avevano due doni essenziali: la sensibilità e il coraggio che fanno la differenza per creare qualsiasi progetto si ha in mente. In quel periodo aveva sentito che molte aziende di moda locali mandavano al macero rotoli su rotoli di tulle, organza, pizzo. Scampoli di qualità altissima rimasti inutilizzati. In questo ho visto il modo di ottenere materia prima pregiata a costo pari allo zero. Allo stesso tempo si offriva una bella opportunità per rivoluzionare in piccolo il mondo della moda con un’attenzione particolare all’ambiente. La seconda tappa è stata quella di coinvolgere sette sarte, donne con un passato di fragilità, specialmente con alle spalle storie di violenza familiare e domestica o di abbandono, alcune ex tossicodipendenti, altre gravemente disabili. Giovani designer emergenti hanno acconsentito a collaborare con noi realizzando modelli che fossero in linea con le tendenze del mercato, ma avessero un particolare che le rendesse uniche. Proprio come le persone che le avrebbero indossate.

E’ nasce quindi la linea moda del Progetto Quid
Il Progetto è nato nel Natale del 2012 e le cose stanno andando alla grande! Domani, venerdì 9 maggio inaugureremo il nostro quarto temporary store, proprio nella tua bella città, Vicenza, nel centralissimo Corso Palladio. Siamo convinti che in una città sensibile e attenta come questa e con una tradizione di artigianato di altissima fattura QUID sarà ben accolto. Logicamente non sono sola. Quid è un Progetto nato insieme ad altri ragazzi: Ludovico Mantoan, Umberto Brambilla, Elisabetta Stizzoli, Valeria Biasi, Silvia Avesani, Fabio Lotti, Marco Andreoli e Micaela De Carli con i quali la collaborazione e il lavoro è stato talmente importante ed efficace che solo tra il dicembre e marzo 2013 abbiamo fatturato più di 100,000 euro.

Incredibile!
Già, abbiamo iniziato con delle semplici t-shirt colorate e grazie alla Fondazione San Zeno (Gruppo Calzedonia) siamo partiti alla grande! Oltre ad avere i temporary store monomarca, per la stagione estiva 2014 abbiamo lanciato tre linee. La prima è la Pure essential, capi basic con linee essenziali su tessuti naturali. La seconda è Delicate transparence, ispirata agli origami, per un’ eleganza sofisticata fatta di geometrie di tessuti. La terza è Boho chic, tra vintage e stile bohemienne.
Presto si aggiungerà l’esclusivissima Stripes, pochi pezzi unici realizzati a partire dal recupero di un tessuto a righe d’eccezione. I nostri capi sono realizzati esclusivamente a mano.

Oltre alle tante soddisfazioni, ci sono aziende che hanno eco in tutto il mondo per la loro grandezza che collaborano con voi … avete avuto anche dei importanti riconoscimenti…
Abbiamo vinto dei premi importanti come il Premio Pionieri Rete Rena (2013), il Premio Fondazione Unipolis (2013), Finalisti European Social Innovation Competition (2014).

Che dire? Complimenti ragazzi, vi stimo molto … quali sono i vostri obiettivi?
Logicamente è continuare a crescere! Proteggiamo l’armonia e la bellezza di ciò che ci circonda, siamo attenti all’ambiente e ai ritmi di lavoro delle nostre impiegate che seguiamo quotidianamente con attenzione. Infine siamo moda al femminile perché alla base dell’intero progetto c’è un’idea che sa di sapienza antica: quella del recupero di cose belle e preziose, che possono e devono essere reinventate e vogliono continuare così!

Good morning everyone, today I’m feeling great! I have interviewed for you a girl who I’ve been extremely impressed by, a girl we will hear so much about because, as Socrate said, luck may not exist, but there’s a time when talent meets the chance, and Anna Fiscale is the perfect example of that and when this time comes, the outcome can’t be anything but GREAT! Two years ago the Quid Project has started, created by a group of young people of which Anna is the leader: they exploits used pieces of fabric that other fashion companies do not use, they started by creating T-shirts, up to creating an entire brand and even more. But let’s have her telling us about it …

 

Tell us something about you…

I was born and raised in Verona, a jewel of a city where often, during high school, riding my bike through its narrow streets, I thought about how I could leave my mark on this world.

 

Did you already have any idea by then?

No, but I got some answers when I started college. I enrolled in the major of Economics, where among the many things I learned , I was fascinated by the decisiveness of the change in patterns of production and consumption. I was so fascinated that I wanted to go to India, where I was involved in the study of feminine micro-credit systems for my bachelor thesis written between Verona and London. Later I decided to specialize in the management of international organizations at the Bocconi University, an intense experience of study in which I alternated periods of internship – at the European Commission – and academic exchanges in Paris – and then I started a master thesis on humanitarian aid of the international system in Haiti. This experience was crucial to understand that the international dimension of development cooperation, required a dose of diplomacy and compromise that clashed with my will to do. A little in contrast with most of my peers, I decided to pack my bags and go back to Verona to look for the perfect combination for an effective and lasting change, which could take root and grow.

 

 

And here starts Quid Project!

Exactly, after a period of voluntary work with some female inmates, I realized that women had two gifts essentially: sensitivity and courage that make the difference to create any project you have in mind. At that time I had heard that many local fashion companies sent to the shredder rolls upon rolls of tulle, organza, and lace. Scraps of high quality remained unused. I saw this as a way of getting valuable raw material at a cost equal to zero. At the same time, it offered a nice opportunity to revolutionize the world of fashion with little intrusion of the environment. The second step was to involve seven seamstresses, women with a history of fragility, especially with the background stories of family and domestic violence or neglect, some former drug addicts, and others severely disabled. Emerging young designers have agreed to cooperate with us, creating models that were in line with market trends, but that had something special that made ​​them unique. Just like the people who would have worn them.

 

 

That’s when the Quid Project fashion brand starts

The project was born on Christmas of 2012 and things are going great! Tomorrow, Friday May 9th we will open our fourth temporary store, right in your beautiful city of Vicenza, in the Corso Palladio. We believe that in a city like this, sensitive and attentive and with a tradition of craftsmanship of the highest quality, QUID will be well accepted. Obviously I’m not alone. Quid is a project born with other people: Ludovico Mantoan, Umberto Brambilla, Elizabeth Stizzoli, Valeria Biasi, Silvia Avesani, Fabio Lotti, Marco Andreoli and Micaela De Carli, with which the collaboration and the work was so important and effective that only between December and March 2013 we have invoiced over 100.000 Euros.

 

That’s incredible!

Yeah, we started with simple colorful t-shirts and thanks to the San Zeno Foundation (Calzedonia Group) we had a great start! In addition to having the one-brand temporary store, for the summer season 2014 we launched three lines. The first is the Pure essential, basic garments with clean lines of natural fabrics. The second is Delicate transparence, inspired to origami, for a ‘sophisticated elegance of geometry made ​​of fabrics. The third one is Boho chic, a mix of vintage and bohemian style.

Soon we will add the very exclusive “Stripes”, a few unique pieces made from the recovery of a striped fabric of exception. Our garments are all exclusively made by hand.

Besides many satisfactions, as some of the companies you work with are huge and known all over the world, you have also had some really important rewards…

We have won important awards such as The Pioneers Rena Network Award (2013), The Unipolis Foundation Award (2013), European Social Innovation Competition Finalists (2014).

Well, congratulations guys, I’m impressed…what are your goals?

Obviously to continue growing! We protect the harmony and beauty of what surrounds us, we are attentive to the environment and to the rhythms of our workers that we follow daily with care. Finally, we represent feminine fashion because the entire project is based on an idea that has a hint of ancient wisdom: the one of the recovery of precious and beautiful things that can and must be reinvented and want to continue like this!
